Third grade students at Cleveland have been learning about how an organism's’ traits adapt to their environment. They studied giraffes to see how they collect food from high up and down low. As biomimicry scientists, the students used the engineering design process to make RoboGrazer that could simulate what giraffes do to get rid of an invasive plant. Students planned, built, tested, and evaluated their RoboGrazer to make it the best it could be!
Plans are in the works for SFSD students and staff to bring electronic devices home over the weekend in the event that winter weather presents challenges on Monday. Refresh your memory now about the new remote learning plan by using the QR code on the image. We'll keep you posted if there are any schedule changes for Monday.

Congratulations to our ROARing students at Cleveland for the month of February.
These students were respectful, took ownership, achieved their goals and were role models. We are so proud of each one of you for helping make Cleveland a better place.
The second grade students showed their scientific skills by working to create a better glue for our school.
The classes first chose the properties they wanted their glue to have and together decided on their design goals.
Students observed and tested many ingredients and came up with a mixture that consisted of corn syrup, water, gelatin and flour.
The classes then made picture frames with popsicle sticks that were glued together with their mixture.
Congratulations to this week's CUBS COUNT winners.
These students were here each day, on time this whole week!
