Last Wednesday, November 13th was World Kindness Day.
World Kindness Day is an international observance that was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of kindness-focused organizations from various countries. The day is dedicated to promoting kindness as a universal value and encourages individuals and communities to build a more compassionate and inclusive world.
Cleveland students celebrated this day by attending a virtual assembly from 9:00-9:30 with their grade level. This assembly was put on by 52 Lives School of Kindness located in the UK. During the assembly, a challenge was presented to each student to spread kindness by writing a note to someone, sharing why they believed he/she was amazing. Students also completed an activity that focused on choosing respect for themselves, for other people, for places around them and for objects and things. Student work is displayed around the school, in an effort to help spread kindness all around.
